Earley Penworks is using a limb from "The Old Pecan Tree" to turn memories into usable works of art.
We at Earley Pen Works are pleased about a project that we have been involved with since 1999. A limb was obtained from the Department of Forestry here in West Tennessee of the "Old Pecan Tree" whose remains still stand at the north end of Natchez Trace Park, on the Pecan Tree Rd. Those of us who know the history and grew up with the tales of this beloved landmark feel a certain sadness for its demise. That which once stood so tall and proud is almost gone. We are using the wood which was so graciously given to us to try and keep the memory of this old friend alive. Fine writing instruments and letter openers are being hand crafted from this beautiful wood. Why not purchase a little piece of history before it's gone? We are using the wood from the tree to turn assorted items of keepsake, including writing instruments and desk accessories. We also accept wood and other materials from customers to turn personal heirlooms from sentimental items, such as an old fence post, board from an old barn, or building material from a new home construction. Counter top and flooring material is often used and the items mark an important time in ones life. The establishing of a new homestead.
